Books and Inspiration 1/2

     Today I was thinking about how many sorts of books I have been working on lately
     and maybe I should make a choise and specialize. But the "problem" is.........I like it all.
     I like to work with paper and cardstock, but also enjoy fabric and lace......
     All materials are so fun to create with.

     The thing is........... I think I have to learn how to "loosen up" a little : ).
     I don't know if I can explain this in English,
     but I'm a bit afraid of working free. In Dutch we say..........
     "afraid to color outside the lines"....... : )
     Writing this down I'm not sure if this is said right, but
     I hope you know what I mean.
     It's not that I'm unhappy with my first results, but I really, really want to dare..........
     to create, make what I feel instead of what I think is expected.
     Do hope that in the time to come I will make more progress in this.......


     For example....my first "Fabric Book"  and below the last one.......
     my "Sepia-album" dedicated to my grandmother........there is some difference......
     The Bridesbooks lay inbetween I think.......
     I'd love to learn more........but maybe this is me.........just wait and see........

     Vandaag dacht ik aan hoeveel verschillende soorten boeken ik zo
     langzamerhand heb gewerkt.
     Het zou, dacht ik, goed zijn om een keus te maken,
     waarin ik me meer zou kunnen  bekwamen........zoals dat zo mooi heet.
     Maar....... gek genoeg vind ik alles leuk en vind ik het prettig om af en toe
     van materiaal te wisselen. Papier en karton of stof en kant.

     Er is voor mij alleen één "probleem"........ik denk dat ik moet leren om
     wat losser te werken, om buiten de lijntjes te durven kleuren..........
     Het is niet dat ik niet blij ben met de eerste resultaten, maar ik wil écht, heel graag
     gaan dúrven !.......meer gaan creëren....!!......wat ik vóel............
     en niet wat ik denk dat er misschien verwacht wordt.
     Ik hoop zó dat ik daar in de komende tijd meer en meer in zal groeien!  

     Om een voorbeeld te geven......de boeken die hier zijn afgebeeld,
     hierboven, mijn eerste "Fabric Book" en hieronder het laatste,
     het "Sepia-album" dat aan mijn oma is gewijd.........er is al wat verschil te zien,
     de Bruidboeken liggen er een beetje tussen in, denk ik.
     deze kant wil ik dus graag nog verder op.........maar misschien is dit wie ik ben.........
     ......................just wait and see.......

"Grow Your Blog" Party 2013

"Shabby Royale".......

     Hi everyone,

     A warm welcome to my blog. So happy you're taking time to visit.
     Thank you so much Vicki  for hosting this party to grow our blogs and frienships !!!

     I decided to explain in this post ,in short ,the name "Shabby Royale",
     that sounds a bit French too.
     My name is Wilma, I'm almost 59, married for 38 years now.
     I'm mother of two sons and grandmother of two lovely, little boys.
    Was raised  in a (Baptist)preachersfamily, and second of six children.

     I love the "Shabby chic" style. Love to craft in many ways ,
     altering and mixed media art and making the first steps .

     One of my first projects was the altering of two cobalt bottles in shabby chic style
     and because of the "crownjewel" I decided to call them "Shabby Royale".
     The French "Royale" is because I like the pronunciation ,and
     I wanted the name to start with............ "Shabby".

     In Dutch you say "royaal" also when you have a lot of.............what ever..........anything.
     So here was ......a lot of shabby......."Shabby Royale".
     Does that sound to complicated ,I hope not ,
     for my English doesn't get any better then this ,I'm afraid : ).

    There's another meaning to this .  I discovered that it stands for my own life.

     I have been ,deep down in , living in the "shabby".
     Not knowing myself or what to do with myself.
     It really took me a lot of time to find out the bottem of my soul.
     (read a bit more on post Broken and Healed... newyears eve 2012).
     Psalm 118.
     In guidance of the Holy Spirit ,Who came in my life through Jesus Christ
     in august 1982 ,step by step I found myself and learned to know myself.

     In all "shabbyness" I found the "Royal" way to BE and to LIVE.

     I learned to ENJOY too..............and that is what my blog , for me , is all about.

     To enjoy life in its beauty ,and relationships..... with all my senses.
     My creativity ,that was blocked for atleast 16 years ,came back !!
     and so I decided to start blogging , ........to share...........

     I hope you'll sense this in the things you see and read on my blog and .......

Blogland

Zo nu en dan is er in "Blogland" een Party of Event voor bloggers.
Zolang deze blog bestaat heb ik daar alleen van de kantlijn naar gekeken,
maar deze week doe ik voor het eerst aan zoiets mee.
Het is een "Grow your blog" party.
Het wordt georganiseerd door Vicki van "2 Bags Full". Op de avond voor 19 januari
plaatst iedereen die zich heeft ingeschreven, dat zijn meer dan 250 bloggers,
het bericht dat ze aan alle andere deelnemers willen vertellen.
Om elkaar te leren kennen en nieuwe vrienden en followers te krijgen.
Ik vind het echt heel spannend!

This week is the start of the "Grow your blog" party.
For the first time in my blogadventures I
participate in something like this. Vicki of "2 Bags Full" is hosting this event.
At the evening of 18 Jan., all bloggers that signed in
push the button for the new post. Making new friends.
Hoping for more followers.
