Pearl in Gold

Today I want to share this present I finished last week .

It's for a book ( journal ), my cousin was gifted with , by her husband .

She asked me to make a wrap and I was happy to !

 

My cousin Willy and I as children ,

( same age and both named after our grandmother Willemina : ) 

sometimes stayed with an aunt and uncle during the summer.

This uncle was a musician and we loved to sing while he played the music .

He played the church organ for decades .

My uncle died over 30 years ago and my aunt will be 91 next month .

One of the books he used a lot are the songs of Johannes de Heer .

I know......it's almost a sin to cut pieces out of a book like this.......

but I did ........just this tiny weeny snippet.......

 

 

This song is about the (hidden) Pearl of great value......

being the Kingdom of God.....

Matt. 13 : 46 .

I used it for the glass bookmark ,

as a sweet memory.

This music is not from the book , 

Just couldn't .......

Bridal centerpiece

                                      Hello dear blogfriends ,

                         Some weeks ago I found a couple of glasspieces
                                      like this in a thriftshop .
                                 I love to use glass in my work .......
                                     and an idea popped up........
                                 So I made this bridal creation .

                            The two cream pieces in it are vintage collars .
                             Did not dye them , the colors are original .
                              The one that goes all around is frivolité
                         done by my dear aunt Mini........years and years ago .

              ( The pearls were added by me , a lot of the pearls I used are vintage ,
                          from broken jewelry , so are the hearts of the flowers ).
                                  
                               The other collar ( at the side with the shells ),
                                  was a gift from a very dear paintingfriend .

Don't you just love the vintage veil? It was given to me by Wil ,

                                   the very sweet neighbour of Maria  .

( Maria is the hostess of the 'Bed and Breakfast' and the 'Artshow ' )

Actually Wil surprised me by giving me the dress and

the hairpiece as well........

  and  I was absolutely stunned when she told me 

I could also have four other beautiful vintages dresses .

Isn't that amazing ?!!

I will show them to you in another post .

Photoshop

Blogbar and new label

Ben nogal druk geweest de laatste tijd. In de vakantie heb ik van mijn zoon Jac een paar lessen photoshoppen gehad. Het leek me zo leuk om dat een beetje in de vingers te krijgen, hoewel het me nogal onbereikbaar leek. Dat is het voor mij vast ook, want de mogelijkheden zijn redelijk oneindig, maar ik wil proberen te leren wat wél zo'n beetje binnen mijn bereik ligt. Het is een heel werk en wel erg tijdrovend !!

Nu ben ik ermee aan het experimenteren en aan de slag gegaan.... en.......
het is ZO fantastich om te doen !!!!!
Waar ik nu het meest mee bezig ben geweest is leren om objecten uit de achtergrond te halen, op te slaan, en ze later bij elkaar in een mooie opstelling te zetten.
Het is maar een heel klein stapje op deze digitale weg, maar ik geniet er van.
Ik heb me er aan gewaagd om een ander visitekaartje te maken, (alsof de vorige al zo oud was :))..... zie vorige post haha.....) en de balk met persoonlijke objecten, die ik onder de berichten heb geplaatst, is ook een resultaat.

Er zijn nog andere bezigheden. 

Ik werk toe naar een "Victorian Christmas Fair" die in december is.

Daar moet heel wat voor geknutseld en gefrutseld worden. Het is m'n bedoeling om op mijn blog, zo nu en dan, iets van de eindprodukten te laten zien. Op dit moment is er wat oponthoud omdat ik erge pech met mijn printer heb, dus ik werk aan verschillende cadeautjes totdat ik niet verder kan. De kortste klap is een nieuwe printer kopen, maar daar wil ik even goed over nadenken.

Begin ondertussen al aardig in kerststemming te komen.

I've been rather busy the last few weeks. My son Jac gave me some photoshoplessons during his time with us. I wanted to know a bit of how it worked, never really thinking it would be something for me.
It's not easy, at least I think so, but I'm learning. It's a lot of work and takes a lot of time too.
The possibilities are endless, but I really want to learn everything that's possible and handy for me.

So now I'm in the experimental phase and I love it !!!! I'm working on separating objects and backgrounds, saving it and arrange them later on in a collage.
It's a tiny step on this digitale road, but I do enjoy it. I even dared to make a new label......
(as if the other was that old : )).... see previous post haha....)
The bar at the end of the posts is another result.

Some other things going on.
I'm working forward to a december "Victorian Cristmas Fair".
A lot of creawork to do and it's my intention to, now and again, show some results on my blog. At the moment there's some delay. My printer is very much not working the way it should. Maybe the best thing to do is getting myself a new printer, but I really want to think that over.

In the meantime I dó feel a bit "christmassy" :) already.

I just love antique christmascards...!!!
